This set of cast iron cookware appliances delivers three hardwearing and robust cooking essentials that that will allow you to create a wide array of meals in the kitchen. The cast iron cookware set features a 24cm griddle pan, a 22cm casserole dish with lid, and a 28cm low walled casserole dish with lid.
Each of the three cast iron cookware essentials come in a stylish red colour, and when coupled with the light cream coloured inner enamel surface, will be suitable to be used in any style of kitchen, whether it be modern or traditional, without looking out of place. All of the cast iron cookware items feature a non-stick enamel coating that allows the foods to be easily decanted from the pan or dish straight to the plate, and each one of the appliances has the capacity to withstand direct heat, whilst also redistributing said heat around the pan or pot, to ensure an even and well-balanced cooking experience.
These cast iron pots and pans are like all Blackmoor pots and pans in the fact that they can be used on all hob types, such as gas, electric, and induction hobs, as well as on hot plates too. The beauty of these cast iron appliances is that they are also suitable to be used in the oven, and can each withstand temperatures of up to 260°c, without compromising their quality.
The enamel coating on each of the appliances also makes them resistant to acidic and alkaline foods, which allows you to marinade your foods in them, and store it in the fridge before cooking.
The griddle pan has a single handle, and each of the casserole pots have two easy grip handles that have been designed to make taking the pots and pans from the oven to the hob nice and simple, but please be aware that these handles will become extremely hot once placed in the oven, so they must be removed with appropriate heat resistant oven gloves.
The lids that come with both of the casserole pots ensures the heat stays inside the dishes at all times, allowing for the flavours to grow over time, and also feature a stainless steel knob that makes the lifting of the lid on and off the pots nice and simple. Please be aware that the stainless steel knob is like the handles in the sense that if used in the oven it will become extremely hot, and therefore will need to be handled with the same heat resistant oven gloves.
The cast iron griddle pan features raised ridges that makes it perfect for searing meats, fish and vegetables, and is hand wash only, to ensure the longevity of the item. The 22cm casserole dish has a 2.5L volume capacity, and is perfect for braising, simmering, roasting, broiling, and baking a wide range of foods, whilst the low casserole dish also has a 2.5L capacity, but the low walled nature of the dish makes this the best pot for browning meats and vegetables, as well as simmering risottos, stir frys, and most impressively baking sweet or savoury pies.
