This cast iron casserole dish is like all Blackmoor pots and pans in the fact that it is suitable to be used on all hob types, such as gas, electric, and induction hobs, as well as on hot plates, and the hardwearing nature of the pan allows it to be placed in ovens up to 260°c, without compromising its quality. The enamel coating on the cast iron casserole pot also makes it resistant to acidic and alkaline foods, which enables you to marinade your foods in the dish and store it in the fridge before cooking.
The casserole dish features two easy grip handles either side of the pot that provides an easy way to take the pan in and out of the oven. Please note that the handles will become very hot when used in the oven, so when removing the dish always use heat resistant oven gloves to protect yourself.
The casserole dish also comes complete with a lid that will ensure the heat stays inside the pot when cooking, allowing your flavours to heighten over time, and delivering the best cookpot to create dishes that require cooking over a low heat for a long duration. The lid itself has a stainless steel knob on the top that makes taking the lid on and off the pot nice and straightforward, but like the handles, will become hot if used in the oven, so again please remove with the appropriate protection.
This casserole dish measures 22cm in diameter, has a 2.5L volume capacity, comes in a stylish black colour, and when coupled with the demure cream coloured inner enamel surface, it is a cookpot that will be suitable to be used in any style of kitchen, whether it be modern or traditional, without looking out of place.
When it comes to the maintenance of the casserole pot it is hand wash only, and needs to be cleaned in hot soapy water before the first use, and then after every subsequent use once the pan has cooled down.
